De Ateliers, established in 1963, is a unique workplace for artists, which is managed by visual artists. Here, talented young artists from home and abroad can develop their work in a private, spacious studio, under the close supervision of prominent artists and critics. Hundreds of applicants from all over the world apply for the ten studios that become available every year. Strict selection procedures ensure the quality. Nearly fifty years of expertise and experience enable De Ateliers to recognise talent early and to bring it to a high professional standard in a stimulating working environment. The institute has produced countless artists of note. Ex-participants in the programme include Toon Verhoef, Marlene Dumas, Joep van Lieshout, Rob Birza, Aernout Mik, Robert Zandvliet, Urs Fischer, Matthew Monahan, Erik van Lieshout, Melvin Moti, Natasja Kensmil and Keren Cytter.

The Ateliers Support Fund (ASF) has the aim of attracting financial support to safeguard the continuity of the activities of De Ateliers. The ASF appeals to private individuals, companies and institutions that want to support the artistic development of young talent directly. By doing this, the ASF provides a crucial supplement to the government support that De Ateliers receives from the Culture department of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

Donors are invited for a tour of the participants' studios each year in September, at the start of a new workig period. You can get to know De Ateliers as an exceptional workplace where the art of the future is in the making. There is an annual Ateliers Support Fund Dinner in January, with a special guest (guests of honor in recent years are Thomas Demand, Anton Henning and Marlene Dumas). In May, you are invited to the exclusive preview of the Offspring-exhibition iwhere donors have priority in acquiring works. Donors are also invited to the twelve artists' talks at De Ateliers in spring and autumn, followed by a meet and greet with the artist.

Donations to the ASF can consist of gifts of a minimum of five annual payments of 10,000 euros, one-off gifts and bequests. The ASF is recognized as a ANBI-institute by the Dutch tax offices. The ASF is happy to discuss the most advantageous form of donation with you.

The ASF is a foundation. The executive board is made up of Jean Paul Engelen (senior president, Christie's London), Hans Verkoren (former member of the executive board, ING) and Jochem de Koning (tax lawyer, CMS Derks Star Busmann). The advisory board is made up of the supervising artists Rob Birza, Marlene Dumas, Melvin Moti, Willem de Rooij, Bojan Sarcevic, Marien Schouten, Fiona Tan, Didier Vermeiren and Marijke van Warmerdam.
