Films from Karimah Ashadu enter MoMA collection

Four films from former De Ateliers-participant Karimah Ashadu were recently aquired by the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Karimah Aashadu made two of these films, ‘King of Boys (Abbatoir of Makoko)’ (2015) and ‘Makoko Sawmill’ (2015), during her working period at De Ateliers and were included in the exhibition ‘Offspring 2016’. Currenlty, Karimah Ashadu is working on her first feature film, ‘Salt Mine’, with the generous support of Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, Zeit Foundation, and Columbia University’s Center for Ideas and Imagination.
