De Ateliers congratulates former participant Natasja Kensmil, winner of the Johannes Vermeer Prize 2021. This prestigious art prize from the Dutch state will be awarded on November 1st, 2021, by Ingrid van Engelshoven, Minister of Education, Culture and Science. The jury, chaired by Andrée van Es, was unanimous in her nomination. In Kensmil’s paintings and drawings, unexpected links between cultural heritage and current controversies are revealed. Natasja Kensmil was guest tutor at De Ateliers and is currently member of the Supervisory Board. Her works are on view in the Amsterdam Museum/Hermitage in Amsterdam until January 9th, 2022.
