Celebrating the Spring Performance Festival 2018 on Saturday March 24th, De Ateliers proudly presents ‘Tender Keys/Muddy Tongues’ by Finish artist Henna Hyvärinen, current participant at De Ateliers. This new performance piece of appr. 30 minutes (with Frieder Haller on saxophone and Eulàlia Garcia Valls on surfboard) examines slippery notions of solidarity, while violently shaking one’s head to match the beat. Using sound, video, performance and text, Hyvärinen creates auto fictional narratives that question the ways in which power structures, gender, sexuality and social-economic factors shape one’s identity. The performance starts at 12.30 at De Ateliers, Stadhouderskade 86, Amsterdam.
Prior to Hyvärinens performance, the new art venue Kunsthalle Amsterdam presents the performance ‘with or without you’ by artist Elise van Mourik at De Ateliers, starting at 11 am.
