Cudelice Brazelton IV (b.1991, Dallas, Texas, USA), lives in Frankfurt, Germany

American artist Cudelice Brazelton IV joined the Ateliers team of permanent tutors in 2022. His practice encompasses site-specific painting, collage, sound, assemblage sculpture, and spatial interventions. Brazelton creates a kind of alternate Americana that recalls the glimmer of asphalt and the raw edges of post-industrial urban life. Dark humor is a recurring element. Cudelice Brazelton IV attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and studied at Städelschule, Frankfurt. He had solo exhibitions at Lodos (Mexico City, 2023), Murmurs (Los Angeles, 2022), Cell Project Space (London, 2022), Galerie Barbara Weiss (Berlin, 2021), Sans Titre (Paris, 2021), International Waters (New York, 2020), Ola Bunker (Frankfurt, 2020), Shoot the Lobster (New York, 2019) and Husslehof (Frankfurt, 2019). He participated in numerous exhibitions, including the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf (2023), Freiburg Biennial (2023), Swiss Institute (New York, 2022) and Kunstverein Wiesbaden (2021). He is recipient of the Lingener Kunstpreis 2024. The artist is represented by Galeria Wschód (Warsaw).
